Film gives only money, but theatre gives life, says Illa Arun.

Singer, Actor lla Arun known for plays, films and music concerts says that, film gives only money, but theatre gives life and her first priority is theatre than movies.

 lla Arun was interacting with media at the premier of play 'Raunaq and Jassi' on Thursday in Mumbai.

lla Arun, a Rajasthani folk singer known for most famous film song 'Choli Ke Peeche' is still fresh in people's mind. She thinks of herself more as a theatre person rather than as a movie actor. 

When asked on the same lla Arun said, "Film gives only money, but theatre gives life. I get confidence from theatres because, to be in one character for 3 hours and address the audience without any retake, is not that easy. My wish is to draw my last breath performing  theatres."

Further emphasizing about theatres, she said, "if the person is good in theatres than without a doubt he is incomparable in films. You can see the impressive  examples  of Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Om Puri and many more."

Her  theatre company  Sunrai is been around 30 years and through this she has turned the spotlight on issues such as women’s empowerment in her plays.

Ila Arun further discussed about her forthcoming project, she said, "In January I am doing a theatre show. The amazing  point is that continuously  for 6 days I'll be playing 6 different roles. Theatre is a challenge for me."

'Raunaq and Jassi' is the new musical play directed by Feroz Abbas Khan. It's a powerful love story and restores the faith in love. It is inspired from William Shakespeare's play  'Romeo and Juilet'.
