Bhubaneswar, Nov 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) A Professor was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a girl student in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, police said on Friday.
The arrested professor is head of the English department at Maharaja Purna Chandra Autonomous College in Baripada, the police said.
He was arrested based on an FIR lodged by the woman's father at Baripada police station.
According to a source, the incident had occurred on November 15. Demanding action against the accused, the students of the college had also staged a demonstration.
College principal Jharana Behera said that they have already taken departmental action against the accused Professor by relieving him of all responsibilities.
