After making her debut with Love Sonai and winning accolades for Batla House and Super 30, newbie actress Mrunal Thakur has been roped in as the leading lady in the Hindi remake of Jersey, also starring Shahid Kapoor.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh dropped the confirmation on the film. He tweeted, “#Confirmed: Mrunal Thakur - who was paired with Hrithik Roshan [#Super30] and John Abraham [#BatlaHouse] - to enact the lead opposite Shahid Kapoor in #Hindi remake of #Telugu film #Jersey...Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri...28 Aug 2020 release”
'Jersey' is a Hindi remake of the Telugu hit of the same name. The Hindi version will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original movie.
Looking at the original version, Mrunal's character will be the anchor to Shahid's, who goes on an emotional journey against all odds to play cricket for the country in his mid 30's, when it's time for most people to retire from competitive sports.
The television star Mrunal, who rose to fame in Bollywood played the role of a journalist and wife of John Abraham in 'Batla House' while she portrayed the role of Hrithik Rohan's love Interest in the much-appreciated film 'Super 30'.
Shahid Kapoor is currently prepping for his role in the film. The actor is going thorough cricket practice to get the nuance and finer details right in the role.
