Korea Masters: Srikanth looks to continue good form, Saina withdraws

New Delhi, Nov 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) Kidambi Srikanth will be looking to continue the good outing he had at the Hong Kong Open when he takes the court at the Korea Masters. The Super 300 tournament starts with the qualifiers on Tuesday. Saina Nehwal's withdrawal means that there will be no Indian challenge in the women's singles category.

Srikanth will be facing Hong Kong's Wong Wing Ki Vincent, against whom he has a favourable 10-3 record. The 26-year-old world no 13 had struggled for form since reaching the final of the India Open in March.

He however broke that poor run of form in Hong Kong. He had a generous helping of luck in the tournament -- world no.1 Kento Momota's withdrawal allowed Srikanth a walkover in the first round while reigning Olympic champion Chen Long retired halfway through the quarter final clash between the two. However, he will take heart from his performance in the semi-final against home favourite Lee Cheuk Yiu as he looks to regain the form that helped him clinch the top spot of the BWF rankings in 2017.

Additionally, Sameer and Sourabh Verma could face each other if they go through to the second round. Srikanth himself can face either one of them in the quarter finals.
