RSS shifts Haridwar meet to Delhi, appeals for amity

New Delhi, Oct 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the ideological mentor of the BJP, issued a statement on Wednesday stating that it has shifted its Haridwar meeting that was scheduled to start from today to the national capital, while appealing to maintain peace in run-up to the Ayodhya verdict.

The Sangh in its statement put speculation to rest that it has cancelled all meetings in the run-up to the Ayodhya verdict. Arun Kumar of the RSS said, "The meeting scheduled from October 30 to November 5 in Haridwar was postponed for necessary reasons. But the meeting is now being held in Delhi instead of Haridwar."

The meeting is slated to take up issues pertaining to the Ram Janmabhoomi.

Meanwhile, the Sangh has also urged every section of society to maintain communal amity and "cordial atmosphere", regardless of the verdict.

"In the coming days, the Supreme Court's decision on the construction of the temple on Sri Ram Janmabhoomi is likely to come. Whatever be the decision, we should accept it with an open mind. After the decision comes, it is our common duty to ensure the atmosphere throughout the country renains cordial. It is also being discussed in the meeting", read a statement issued by Kumar.

The top court has reserved judgement in the Ayodhya title dispute and the verdict is expected before November 17, when the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will retire.
