Mumbai, Oct 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) Sensex and Nifty gained during the early trade, taking cues from the poll trend which suggest BJP may return to power in Maharashtra and Haryana.
Sensex opened at 39,223.01, higher from its previous close of 39,058.83. The broader Nifty was also up by 62.80 point to 11,666.90.
On Wednesday, stocks sensitive to Brexit closed higher, namely Mothersumi, Tata motors and Tata steel.
The benchmark Sensex post the results of the general elections earlier this year had surpassed the 40,000 mark after BJP retained power with a thumping majority.
