Congress firebrand leader and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy, who was supposed to be under house arrest, managed to evade the police and reach Pragathi Bhavan on a bike. The police immediately took him into preventive custody on Monday afternoon.
In what could be termed as a dramatic entry, the Malkajgiri MP, who is known to cock a snook at the TRS Government, forcibly came out of his residence at Jubilee Hills and jumped onto a bike of his supporters and rushed to Pragathi Bhavan. As he reached the CM camp office he was caught by the police and immediately taken into custody. Tensions reached a high at the place as the agitating Congress workers protested against the police.
The Congress leaders had earlier given a call to participate and stage a protest supporting the RTC strike and criticising the government’s stand on the ongoing deadlock.
