The gorgeous diva Lakshmi Manchu recently invited the bold and beautiful Shruti Haasan to ‘Feet Up With the Stars Telugu’ for a fun and lively conversation. We all deal with personal issues, but actors’ personal lives are out in the world for everyone to see and while we get to see the glamorous side to their lives, a lot goes around that no one knows about.
During the candid tête-à-tête, Lakshmi enquires why Shruti, who used to be a ‘whiskey girl’ and also drink with her father, doesn’t drink even coffee now. Shruti opens up, “I was always fair and open with my parents. I live a sober life now, but from the past 2 years I have stopped everything, I’m a vegan now.” She talks about her weight -issues, “There was a time I was trolled for getting fat, I had medical reasons for being fat.”
Have been busy shooting for films, she mentions of not having time for herself and even though everyone asked her the reason behind not singing and composing, she reveals “I had to heal myself, to have a healthy mind and body, without which it’s a waste thinking about thinking who is saying what.”
Shruti further adds, “This was the time I decided to move away from everyone and started to work on myself in every sense.” Shruti reveals how she had to start again from scratch in Hollywood and worked in small shows before making it to the big shows. She recently completed an international television show with her talent alone and without using her old credits. She mentions, “Over there no one knows the Haasan Family,” so she had to make her own mark.
It's inspiring to see how Shruti dealt with her struggles and rose out of the ashes like a phoenix. Here’s to hoping she reaches new heights and makes us proud.
