New Delhi, Oct 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Bharatiya Janayta Party (BJP) has named candidates for the two Rajya Sabha by-elections from Bihar and UP. Party spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi has been fielded from UP and Satish Dubey from Bihar, the BJP in a short statement, released by party working president J.P. Nadda, said.
The by-elections will be held on October 16 and counting of votes will take place on October 16.
The vacancies were caused by death of former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani.
Jaitley passed away last month. His term was valid till April 2, 2024. The term of Jethmalani, who was elected from Bihar as an RJD representative, was valid till July 7, 2022.
