New Delhi, Sep 14 (IANS) To boost exports, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday announced setting-up of an 'FTA Utilisation Mission' to enhance awareness of preferential duty benefits among MSMEs.
The development assumes significance as the country faces an adverse external trade environment due to the ongoing US-China trade war and fears of a global recession.
In a slew of measures to boost exports, Sitharaman announced setting up of the mission which will be headed by a senior officer in the Department of Commerce.
Besides, the mission will work exclusively with FIEO and export houses to utilise concessional tariffs in each FTA and enhance awareness of preferential duty benefits among MSMEs.
