In the revised estimate budget of 2018-19, the total public debt stood at ₹1,79,795.88 crore, which is 20.77% of GSDP.
Of the over ₹2 lakh crore debt burden, ₹1,63,067 crore is under open market loans, ₹9,457 crore - loans from Central government, ₹12,391 crore - loans from autonomous bodies etc. and ₹18,813 crore from special securities and provident fund.
