Something haunting about young people wielding power: Timothee Chalamet
Venice, Sep 3 (IANS) Actor Timothee Chalamet says there are still plenty of people who come to power by lineage.

"Even to this day there are people born in royal families and wealth or something. And the struggle of that is less in status and more in humanity," Chalamet said, according to a report in "variety.com".

The 23-year-old actor was speaking at the press conference of David Michod's "The King" at Venice Film Festival.

In the film, Chalamet essays the role of a young prince Hal who likes to party but is forced to contend with wielding power after the death of his tyrannical father. The film is loosely based on several Shakespeare plays, and is co-written by Michod and Joel Edgerton.

"There's something haunting or disturbed about young people wielding so much power," he said.

The fact is also disturbing that it still happens. "There's modern (analogies) in the world. There are people still today that come into power by lineage...and who wield it in any way they want," the actor pointed out.
