Jaipur, Sep 3 (IANS) The last rites of Grenadier Hemraj Jat, martyred in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector on Sunday, were performed with military honours at Kishangarh in Rajasthan on Tuesday.
A ceremonial guard of honour was given by 1st Med Regt (SP)(Meiktila), said Col Sombit Ghosh, PRO Defence Rajasthan.
Chetan, nephew of the martyr, lighted the pyre in the presence of a large number of people, who paid their homage to the armyman who sacrificed his life for the nation.
State Minister Pratap Khachriyawas and BJP MLA Satish Poonia also paid homage to the martyr.
He was serving Battalion 4 as grenadier and had joined the army over on March 22, 2017.
