Lucknow, Aug 8 (IANS) The Lucknow Metro plans to recognise the talent of meritorious students of Lucknow University by displaying their pictures and achievements in the Metro trains and premises.
Several toppers from the varsity have also been involved in various programmes of the Lucknow Metro. In a recognition of their contribution, the Metro authorities will put up group photographs and achievements of these students to enlighten travellers of their talent.
A varsity official told IANS that the work of these students had not been showcased for several years due to students union politics which led to the varsity establishing a council for meritorious students.
Many of these students participated in the Metro's cultural programmes besides helping to educate underprivileged children.
Lucknow Metro spokesperson Pushpa Belani said "The Lucknow Metro Director has discussed with Lucknow University about displaying the photos and achievements of students involved in these activities. This will be done soon though no date has been fixed."
