Opposition walks out of Lok Sabha over Karnataka

New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) Major opposition parties, including the Congress, DMK and Trinamool Congress, on Wednesday again stormed out of the Lok Sabha over the situation in Karnataka where several Congress and JD-S MLAs have quit, putting the coalition government in a crisis.

The House was plunged into uproar when a Congress request to raise the issue during Zero Hour was not allowed by Speaker Om Birla.

The agitated Congress MPs then started raising slogans from their seats like "We want justice" and "End dictatorship".

The Speaker pointed out that he had allowed the Congress to speak on the issue on two days and then permitted the House to continue with its proceedings amid the din.

As the opposition was not allowed to speak, the Congress, DMK, TMC, MIM, IUML, National Conference and NCP members trooped out of the House.

The Congress has accused the BJP of destabilizing the Congress-JD-S coalition government in Karnataka by luring its MLAs to cross over to the BJP.
