Chennai, June 28 (IANS) The AMMK's Propaganda Secretary Thanga Tamilselvan along with his supporters joined the DMK on Friday.
In a statement issued here, the DMK said Tamilselvan joined the party along with his supporters in the presence of President M.K. Stalin.
Speaking to reporters, Tamilselvan said Stalin alone can provide good governance to the state.
Originally from the AIADMK, Tamilselvan had joined AMMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran.
He was one of the 18 legislators who were disqualified by Tamil Nadu Speaker P.Dhanapal for anti-party activities.
Tamilselvan contested the recent Lok Sabha polls from Theni constituency and lost. The AMMK party too lost badly in the parliamentary polls and the by-polls for the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
He became critical of Dhinakaran after the poll rout and has now joined the DMK.
