New Delhi, June 27 (IANS) The Central Administrative Tribunal has stayed the compulsory retirement of two Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) officials but the decision has not gone well with the government, as the Centre has approached the Calcutta High Court against the order.

The two were among the 15 CBIC officials against whom the government took action on July 18 on charges ranging from demanding bribe and criminal conspiracy to financial impropriety.

The Calcutta High Court will hear the matter on Friday.

The government has also transferred A.K. Patnaik, Member and HoD, Calcutta Bench of Central Administrative Tribunal, who passed the stay order.
