Dr. CL Venkata Rao a longtime TDP member and a close associate of both TDP Supremo Chandrababu and Ex-Minister Narayana is in plans to join YSRCP. He also served as TDP doctors cell president. He is currently serving as Executive Vice Chairman Swach Andhra Mission in Government of Andhra Pradesh.
In a statement given to the media, he said that he has been warning the party leadership for the last couple of years about the ground reality and no one paid attention. He also found fault with the party losing its core values when they aligned with Congress in recently concluded Telangana elections. He felt that goes against the values of TDP's founder NTR.
He is planning on meeting the AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy after the cabinet expansion on June 8th and will be formally joining the party. We have to wait and see if the YSRCP will accept him into the party. Some members of the party are worried that since he is close to Chandrababu he may a covert as Babu is expert in planting coverts in opposition parties.
