Srinagar, March 16 (IANS) Northern Command Commander Lt General Ranbir Singh on Saturday visited the forward locations in Jammu and Kashmir's Ladakh region.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said: "Lt General Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, visited the forward posts in Western Ladakh and reviewed operational preparedness in the sector.
"He was accompanied by Lt General Y.K. Joshi, General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps. Lt General Ranbir Singh interacted with the troops deployed on the Line of Control and complimented them for their high standard of professionalism, despite the terrain and weather challenges.
"He urged them to continue to discharge their duties with the same tenacity and resolve. He also paid homage at the Kargil War Memorial," Kalia said.
