Chicago, Feb 23 (IANS) Another round of winter storm is expected to hit US Midwest region this weekend, with possible snow, rain, sleet and ice conditions, weather forecasters said on Friday.
According to the US National Weather Service, winter storm watch remains effect in parts of Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas and Michigan during this weekend, Xinhua news agency reported.
Significant snow, sleet or freezing rain will possibly cause travel difficulties, said meteorologists, adding that drivers should use caution while driving on slippery roads with limited visibility.
Mixed precipitation is expected Friday night through Sunday morning for west-central Iowa, with possible snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches (about 8 to 13 cm).
Snowfall of 4 to 8 inches (about 10 to 20 cm) is expected to hit many parts of Wisconsin, making travel very difficult with reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
Heavy snow up to 15 inches (about 38 cm) will possibly hit portions of north central and northeast Wisconsin from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon, with strong wind that may cause damage to trees and even cause sporadic power outages in the areas, said forecasters.
