Bhopal, Feb 15 (IANS) A Madhya Pradesh trooper killed in the deadly attack on a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district was mourned by Chief Minister Kamal Nath, who on Friday announced an ex gratia of Rs 1 crore and a house for the family, besides a job for a next of kin.
The Chief Minister condemned the terror attack on Thursday that has left at least 45 troopers dead and 38 injured after a suicide bomber rammed his SUV packed with explosives into a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) bus on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, leaving the security establishment stunned.
Paying tribute to all those who lost their lives in the worst ever terror act in Jammu and Kashmir since militancy erupted there in 1989, Kamal Nath said: "Ashwini Kumar Kanchi from Jabalpur is one of those brave sons of the land who gave his ultimate sacrifice, one that will not go in vain. Yesterday's attack was an act of cowardice. India will give it a befitting reply."
Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also paid tribute to the slain CRPF troopers and said: "India will destroy all those behind the attack. It will uproot the terrorists and their sympathisers and will not rest until each one was destroyed."
