Streaming service Acorn TV to be available in India

Los Angeles, Dec 11 (IANS) Streaming service Acorn TV, offering British and international TV content, has announced it will expand into 30 more countries, including India.

Operated by AMC Networks-owned RLJ Entertainment, Acorn TV was first launched in the US and Canada in 2011. Its initial international expansion included 12 Latin American countries.

 

It will now be available in countries like Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa, as well as 10 new European and 10 Caribbean countries and more South American countries, reported variety.com.

Its new European countries are Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, while its new South American territories are Venezuela, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic and Guyana.

"Acorn TV is doing phenomenally well in North America, so we're thrilled to continue to take the Acorn TV experience globally," said Matthew Graham, Senior Vice President and General Manager.

"We are excited for global fans of British and international drama and mystery to discover the wonders of Acorn TV with addictive series featuring stellar acting, beautiful settings, and gripping storylines," he added.

Among the shows available on Acorn TV are the first seven seasons of British dramedy "Doc Martin", with season eight being added on December 17. There's also Benedict Cumberbatch's drama "The Last Enemy" and Daniel Craig-starring wartime drama "Sword of Honour".
