Tripura CM visits AIIMS to enquire about Vajpayee

New Delhi, July 3 (IANS) Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday visited AIIMS here to enquire about the health of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, admitted there on June 11 with a kidney tract infection, an official said.

The Chief Minister extended sincere wishes for the speedy recovery of the veteran leader, said an official from Deb's office in Agartala.

According to the official, Deb would meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other Union Ministers to discuss various issues of Tripura.

"He would discuss the Reang tribal refugees' repatriation to Mizoram with the Home Minister," the official added.

A total of 32,857 Reang tribals have been living in the six makeshift camps in north Tripura's Kanchanpur and Panisagar sub-divisions, adjoining Mizoram, since October 1997 after they fled their homes in western Mizoram following ethnic strife.
