Patna, April 3 (IANS) A Bihar court on Tuesday rejected the bail plea of Union Minister Ashwini Choubey's son Arijit Shashwat, accused of inciting communal violence in Bhagalpur district.
The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Bhagalpur rejected the bail plea of Shashwat, currently in judicial custody after giving himself up last week in Patna.
Shashwat, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, sought bail on Monday.
Five more accused were arrested for the violence and three surrendered in the court on Tuesday, police said.
A case was lodged against Shashwat for taking out a procession without prior permission, inciting communal sentiments and roaming with arms on the streets of Bhagalpur.
