HTC Vive extends partnership with World Economic ForumDavos, Jan 23 (IANS) Virtual Reality (VR) company HTC Vive on Tuesday extended its partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to drive forward the "VR/AR For Impact initiative" -- an over $10 million programme to drive VR and AR technologies in support of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.

As a core member of the group, HTC Vive will continue to design and create experiences to foster the use of VR/AR technologies to educate and empower humanity, the company said in a statement.

"VR/AR For Impact is a unique way of driving critical awareness toward problems and solutions facing mankind," said Cher Wang, Chairwoman and CEO, HTC.

 

HTC Vive showcased its latest VR/AR content at the "UN Sustainable Impact Hub" here.

"We see so much untapped potential with VR/AR to drive positive outcomes for society in areas such as health and education, and we are looking forward to working with leaders in this space to build up this initiative in the coming years," added Lauren Joseph, leader of the Electronics Industry Programme at WEF.
