Annual youth festival seeks to capture participants' fresh perspectivesNoida, Jan 13 (IANS) The 22nd edition of the National Youth Festival, which is being organised in Uttar Pradesh this year, is intended to capture the vibrancy and fresh perspective of the country's youth, an official statement said.

With the aim to capitalize on the demographic dividend of young India, the theme of the annual programme, organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is "Sankalp Se Siddhi".

The entire programme is designed to enhance the awareness about government initiatives and exhorting the youth to express their perceptions and concepts of how to make their initiatives more effective, it said.

 

Celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the event commenced on his birth anniversary on January 12 and will be on till January 16.

It is held in a different state each year with the participation of youngsters from across the country.

Around 5,000 volunteers of National Service Scheme and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan have become part of the five-day festival.

It was organised in Haryana last year.

Crucial components of the ongoing festival are the competitive events.

To compete at the national level, the young talents will perform their level best to get themselves medals and awards in the competitive and non-competitive activities including cultural events, martial arts, exhibitions, intellectual discourses, young artists camps, seminars and adventure programmes.

The festival also provides an arena, by creating a Mini-India, where youth interact in formal and informal settings and exchange their social and cultural uniqueness. This blend of diverse socio-cultural milieu creates "Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat".
