Kolkata, Dec 10 (IANS) From enjoying a plate full of grilled chicken to checking in to a specially-decorated suite named "Maradona Suite", Argentine legend Diego Maradona was greeted with aplomb at a five-star hotel here upon arrival.
He even stopped the car from airport to the hotel at Rajarhat area when he saw his photo on the streets, sources close to the event revealed.
"We have prepared a a giant collage with pictures of Che Guevara and Fidel Castro going by his taste and the walls of his room have his special moments," the source said.
"He had grilled chicken and on seeing his large poster on the street at Rajarhat, stopped the car," he added.
Argentine Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara and Cuban leader Fidel Castro are known to inspire the 1986 World Cup hero and former Napoli legend.
Among the clutch of events lined up in his three-day trip, Maradona also wants to visit the Mother House, the headquarters of St Teresa's Missionaries of Charity, it was learnt. The organisers are planning a visit on Monday afternoon.
