Guwahati, Nov 1 (IANS) The Assam government is planning to buy the house of legendary singer Bhupen Hazarika in Kolkata and turn it into a Cultural Centre.
The house, formerly owned by the legendary music maestro on 77 Golf Course Tollygunge, is owned by a Sushil Kumar Dangi.
Assam Minister of State for Cultural Affairs Naba Kumar Doley and Chief Minister's Media Adviser Hrishikesh Goswami on Wednesday held negotiations with the owner, who bought the house from the late singer.
Hazarika used to live there from the middle of 1950 till he shifted to Mumbai to pursue his musical talent.
