Srinagar, Oct 21 (IANS) A civilian was killed on Saturday in heavy shelling and firing by the Pakistan Army on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said
"A porter working for the Indian Army was killed and a girl injured in the shelling and firing in Uri sector which started at 11.30 a.m.
"The Indian military is retaliated strongly and effectively," police sources said.
Due to heightened tensions between the two Armies on the LoC, no traditional exchange of sweets and greetings took place on Diwali.
