New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS) Author and entrepreneur Birbal Jha has been given the Paag Man award by Mithila Darpan, a Mumbai-based organisation, for his work on "advancing the cause of Mithila culture".
Jha spearheaded 'Save the Paag Campaign' as part of "propagating and safeguarding Mithila culture through Paag (turban)", the age-old cultural symbol of the region, said a release.
Jha, who has written several books on self-help and English language, has played an important role in transforming lives of around 30,000 Mahadalits (the poorest of the poor) through collaboration with Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission.
