Medanta to train doctors in robotic surgeryNew Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS) Health provider Medanta - The Medicity on Wednesday said that it will offer skill training programme in robotic radical prostatectomy to surgeons in India as well as neighbouring countries, who till now looked towards US and Europe for such training.

Robotic radical prostatectomy is a highly skilled operation and has a learning curve. The advantages of robotic surgery are less blood loss, early recovery and shorter duration of hospitalisation, it said.

The programme will offer dedicated lectures, lab training, and skill simulator training, and help in offering hands-on experience in treating localised cancer prostate, the second most common cancer among men in India.
