Guwahati, July 29 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on August 1 to take stock of the damage caused by floods in the state.
The Prime Minister's Office on Saturday confirmed this to Assam Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal, a statement issued by the Chief Minister's office here said.
Modi has already announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased in the floods that ravaged the state and Rs 50,000 to the critically injured.
