Electrifying music by metal bands give Delhi headbanging momentsNew Delhi, July 17 (IANS) It was a treat for the capital city's metalheads with three of India's metal bands, Demonic Resurrection, The Cosmic Truth and Grammy Winning Effort, giving an energetic performance before an enthusiastic crowd.

The gig that took place at antiSocial in Hauz Khas Village, was received with great excitement.

The Eager metalheads were seen wearing shirts of bands like Slayer, Megadeth, Death, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Iron Maiden, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Twisted Sister and of other metal and rock bands and discussing their favourite metal bands.

The event, that took place here last week, was part of Demonic Resurrection's 'Dashavatar Tour'.

The show on Friday night saw a lot of energy from not just the performers but also from the audience. The event saw the audience screaming, headbanging, joking and moshing.

The audience was in relatively small numbers but their level of energy outshone that of the audiences one may find for a pop concert or that of a Bollywood singer.

First up was the progressive metal band The Cosmic Truth. The five-piece band performed the gig to promote their EP (extended play) the 'Stroboscopic Illusion' and played singles from it such as 'False Love Pure Hate' and the title song.

Then came the hardcore band Grammy Winning Effort who played songs of their EP such as 'Drop Dead Gorgeous'. The most amount of moshing and head banging in the gig came as a result of their lead singer's showmanship.

The last gig came from the extreme metal band Demonic Resurrection promoting their latest album Dashavatar. Indian mythology meets death metal in their new offering as the 10-piece album talks about the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu.

The performance saw Sahil "The Demonstealer" Makhija on vocals and rhythm guitars, Nishith Hegde on lead guitars, Ashwin Shriyan on bass, Virendra "Viru" Kaith on drums and Mephisto on keyboards.
