'Smart Classroom' project launched in Arunachal

Itanagar, July 15 (IANS) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday launched the 'Smart Classroom' project in the state.

Khandu, who launched this project at the Government Higher Secondary School here under the Chief Minister's Adhunik Shiksha Yojana, expressed the hope that this initiative would give a big push to the education sector in the state, ushering in a bright future for the coming generation.

 

The 'Smart Classroom' project was undertaken through a tripartite agreement between the state's Education and IT Departments and EdCIL (India) Limited.

As per the agreement, the project would be introduced in government-run primary, upper-primary, secondary and higher-secondary schools in the next three years.

The Chief Minister informed that 713 government-run schools, including 100 higher secondary schools, 182 secondary schools, 178 upper primary schools and 253 primary schools will be covered in the first phase of implementation.

Khandu said that 21 master trainers and 1,097 teachers -- 103 teachers from the state capital -- across 21 districts have been imparted training in this project.
