A suicide bombing targeted a vehicle carrying the police officials at Boghra Road in Chaman area, Dawn news reported.
District Police Officer Killa Abdullah Sajid Mohmand, who was critically wounded in the blast, later succumbed to his injuries. Two other officials providing security to the DPO were also critically injured in the blast.
No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
