The incident happened at around 5.30 p.m. in Ramnagar area of east Delhi and the woman in under going treatment in a hospital, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Nupur Sharma.
The officer said the accused Adil, 22, is absconding and added that the motive is yet to be ascertained.
Police said that the incident happened near the woman's house and it was passersby who informed police.
