The accused, Shankar Singh, was arrested from a relative's house.
The incident came to light on Tuesday evening when the elder brother of the victim caught Shankar Singh while he was committing the crime. But he managed to escape, a police officer said.
"During interrogation, Shankar Singh confessed to sexually assaulting the minor for the last five days whenever he found her alone in the house. He committed the crime after luring the girl by offering her sweets," the officer added.
The victim's parents are labourers in the area.
