The man was identified as Sanjit Basu at Smile Scientific Dental Care in North 24 Parganas district.
Purto Bhaban, the Registrar of West Bengal Dental Council, had filed a police complaint against a number of fake dental surgeons all over the state.
The CID took control of the investigation and raided Basu's clinic. "The accused has confessed to his crime," an official said.
