My concentration is all on Telugu movies: Rhea Chakraborty (interview)

After delivering back to back films, Half Girlfriend and Bank Chor, The lead lady, Rhea Chakraborty is in Hyderabad for a Telugu film. She is in talks with the big production house and looking forward to signing the project. Here is the Exclusive Interview of Newbie Rhea Chakraborty.

Rhea Chakraborty, What are you doing in Hyderabad?

My films Half Girl Friend and Bank Chor were released recently and doing good business at Box Office. Right now, I am in Hyderabad, hearing a couple of scripts and looking forward to doing a Telugu film soon.

Being born in Bangalore, You never did any South film but signing back to back films in Bollywood. Why ?

The information that I am from Bangalore is not true. My Mom is Mangalorean and my father is a Bengali (Army Officer). I was born in Pune. Right now, I am hearing a couple of script in Telugu and I am hoping for the best.

Can you Tell us about the response of Bank Chor?

Well, the Movie is good but Collections are not good on Day one. Word of mouth is giving some boost. It's a hilarious entertainer film and people who watched the film are liking it very much and those who haven't watch the film, Please go and watch it.

There were reports that CBFC had objected to the title?

We all Human being use bad language in our daily life. The film is titled as 'Bank Chor', Now in people's head if it's sound like a bad word, it is their's problem, They are thinking like that and from our end. It is 'Bank Chor' (Bank Robber).

Can you tell us about your character in Bank Chor?

I play an Entertainment Journalist character in the film. She is Bengali girl and her name is Gayathri Ganguly. It's a Larger-than-life character for me. Portraying a Comedy character is Tough and I hope I gave my best.

You said that you are looking forward to doing some Telugu films soon. Have you watched any Telugu films?

Yes, I recently watched Manam film. I also watched Baahbali but technically, Baahubali is not a South film but an International Indian Film.

Who is good in Baahubali, Prabhas or Rana?

For me, Rana is best. Because I know Rana personally and I have an affinity towards him and he always guides me what films to do and what not to do.

Who are your favorite actors in Telugu?

I like Allu Arjun, Rana and Pawan Kalyan.

Any Dream roles to do?

I like Vidya Balan in Kahani, Rani Mukherjee in Black and Anusha Shetty in Baahubali. There are many Dream roles.

Usually, Heroines have nothing to do with the mainstream story other than songs and few glamor scenes. What is your comment on this?

I disagree. Yes, There is such kind of films in which heroine got nothing to do other than songs. But, Things are changing now. There are many scripts with powerful roles for women and I am looking forward to doing such kind of films in Future.

Are you learning Telugu?

Yes, I am learning Telugu and Soon I will Speak in Telugu.

Hobbies?

I like Dancing, Poetry and I am also writing a script. I am also taking martial arts training. I think Women are not safe in this country and for self-defense, every woman should learn martial arts to protect themselves.

What are your future projects?

Right now, I am doing a Hindi film and I am hearing scripts in Telugu.

మా అమ్మ‌గారు మంగ‌ళూరు, నాన్న‌దేమో బెంగాల్‌. నాన్న ఆర్మీ ఆఫీస‌ర్‌. నేను పూణేలో పుట్టి పెరిగాను. తెలుగులో తూనీగ తూనీగ సినిమా చేసిన త‌ర్వాత మేరీ డాడ్ కి మారుతి, సోనాలి కేబుల్ సినిమాల్లో న‌టించాను. అలా వ‌రుసగా బాలీవుడ్‌లో అవ‌కాశాలు వ‌చ్చాయి. హాప్ గర్ల్ ఫ్రెండ్, బ్యాంక్ చోర్ సినిమాల్లో నటించాను. ఆ రెండు సినిమాలు నాకు చాలా మంచి పేరు తీసుకొచ్చాయి. ఈ రెండు సినిమాల్లో నా పాత్ర‌కు పెర్ ఫార్మెన్స్ పరంగా మంచి పేరు వచ్చింది. రివ్యూస్ కూడా చాలా బాగా వచ్చాయి.బ్యాంక్‌చోర్ చిత్రంలో జ‌ర్న‌లిస్ట్ పాత్ర చేశాను. సినిమాలో కామెడి ప్ర‌ధానంగా సాగుతుంది. ప్ర‌స్తుతం నేను థియేటర్ గ్రూప్ లో యాక్టింగ్ నేర్చుకున్నాను. బెల్లీ డ్యాన్స్, మార్షల్ ఆర్ట్స్ వచ్చు.

ఫిట్ నెస్ కి ఎక్కువ ఇంపార్టెన్స్ ఇస్తాను. చాలా ఆఫర్స్ వచ్చినప్పటికీ… నా పాత్రకు ఇంపార్టెన్స్ లేకపోయినా… కథలో కొత్తదనం లేకపోయినా ఒప్పుకోలేదు. నాకు తెలుగులో మంచి పాత్రల్లో కనిపించాలని ఉంది. విద్యాబాలన్, అనుష్క నాకు బాగా నచ్చే హీరోయిన్స్. తెలుగులో రానా, పవన్ కళ్యాణ్, మహేష్ బాబు, అల్లు అర్జున్ అంటే ఇష్టం. నేను కథలు కూడా రాస్తాను. డైరెక్షన్ చేయలేను. కానీ నాకు అనిపించిన స్టోరీస్ రాస్తుంటాను. తెలుగులో ఓ మంచి ప్రాజెక్ట్ చేయబోతున్నాను. క్వాన్ నాకు ఆ అవకాశం ఇప్పించింది. యంగ్ హీరోస్ లో మంచి పేరున్న హీరోతో చేయడం నా అదృష్టం. త్వరలోనే ఈ సినిమాకు సంబంధించిన డీటెయిల్స్ చెబుతాను. ప్రస్తుతం నా కాన్ సన్ ట్రేషన్ అంతా తెలుగు వైపే ఉంది. దీనికోసం తెలుగు కూడా నేర్చుకుంటున్నాను. అని అన్నారు.
