Indian, Pakistani armies clash on LoCJammu, June 15 (IANS) Indian and Pakistan armies on Thursday traded gun fire and mortars on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Naushera sector, officials said.

Defence Ministry spokesman Lt. Col. Manish Mehta accused the Pakistan Army of initiating "indiscriminate firing of small arms, heavy automatics and mortars" at 2 p.m. The Indian Army retaliated "strongly and effectively", he said.

The Pakistan Army violated the 2003 ceasefire at three places on the Line of Control on Wednesday too including at Naushera, after which the Indian Army killed two Pakistani soldiers in Poonch district.
