Hyderabad, June 7 (IANS) Telangana Medical Devices Park, a dedicated ecosystem for MedTech innovation and manufacturing will be launched on June 17, state Industries Minister K. T. Rama Rao announced on Wednesday.
The park, coming up over 250 acres in Sultanpur village of Patancheru of Medak district, is said to be first of its kind park in India for medical devices and electronics and will focus on medical innovations, R&D and manufacturing.
Hyderabad, which is already renowned for its significance as the bulk drug and life sciences capital, will strengthen its ecosystem for MedTech innovation and manufacturing, said the minister.
The state capital already has a holistic ecosystem in terms of research facilities, engineering and medical talent, connect between research and medical ecosystem, manufacturing infrastructure, a strong local market, and supply chain and connectivity to all the important global export markets.
The park is coming up in close proximity to Hyderabad International Airport. It will have comprehensive facilities to support innovation, research & development, and industrial scale manufacturing.
The facility will have dedicated support ecosystem in terms of warehousing and logistics, electricity, water, waste management. There will be government support to facilitate approvals and tailored business friendly policies.
It will also have education, training, research and incubation facilities to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation.
