Two car thieves try to run over cops, heldNew Delhi, June 6 (IANS) Two car thieves who tried to run over two police officers here in the early hours of Tuesday were arrested after a chase, Delhi Police said.

A Maruti Swift car and tools used in stealing cars were seized from accused Javed and Shahnawaz of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh said.

Two police officers on patrol noticed four persons roaming under suspicious circumstances in a south Delhi area. When accosted, they tried to run over the policemen while escaping the spot.

 

However, they were cornered near Pandara Road in south Delhi. While two of them were arrested, their two accomplices escaped.
