Mercury to rise further in HimachalShimla, June 2 (IANS) Mercury levels remained high across Himachal Pradesh on Friday and are likely to rise further till next week owing to lack of rains, the weatherman said. Shimla saw a high of 25.8 degrees Celsius.

"Temperatures across the state will remain on the higher side due to lack of rain till June 6. The maximum temperature remained above average by 2 to 4 degrees," an official at the meteorological office here told IANS.

He said Shimla's maximum temperature was 2 notches above average for this time of the year.

 

Likewise, Sundernagar in Mandi district saw a maximum of 34.8 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar in Kullu district 33.2 degrees Celsius and Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded 22 degrees Celsius temperature.

Dharamsala, headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile, saw a high of 29.4 degrees Celsius, 6 degrees above the average.

Una town was the hottest in the state with a high of 39.2 degrees Celsius.
