Chennai, May 25 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Thursday said three new law colleges will be opened in Dharmapuri, Villupuram and Ramanathapuram districts during the academic year 2017-18.
Palaniswami said the decision was taken to enable students in and around these districts to take up law education.
Palaniswami said 80 students each will be admitted for the five-year and three-year law courses from the academic year 2017-18.
The Chief Minister in a statement said a sum of Rs 6.81 crore will be spent on hiring professors, setting up of libraries and on other related facilities for the three colleges.
