Police said the incident occurred in Friday evening when the girl was playing outside her residence in Libaspur Industrial area in west Delhi.
"Soni was playing outside her residence when she was run over by the speeding car driven by Rajesh, a resident of Saraswati Vihar in Pitampura. Rajesh was caught by victim's father Shyam Dev," said a senior police officer.
The father and Rajesh took the girl to Amebedkar Hospital where doctors declared her dead, the officer said.
Rajesh was arrested from the hospital, he added.
