Panaji, May 20 (IANS) The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday accused the Goa government of hiding facts in the collapse of the foot bridge in south Goa's Curchorem area and demanded it come out with details about the persons still missing after the tragedy.
"We demand the government shun its apparent anxiety to hide facts about the disaster and be more forthcoming on details like the official estimate on missing persons and spare no effort in search operations at the spot," AAP Goa Convenor Elvis Gomes said in a statement here.
Three people drowned when the decades-old bridge on the Sanvordem river collapsed, about 45 km from here, on Thursday evening. Over 30 persons managed to swim to safety, officials said.
Neither the district administration, nor the police have been able to release the figures on those missing, which reflects on the government's tardy efforts, the AAP said.
"... the administration is either tardy and inefficient or hasn't treated this tragedy with the seriousness it deserves," the party said.
