Vivek Agnihotri's 'Mohammad and Urvashi' bags Dadasaheb Phalke award

Mumbai, May 13 (IANS) Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri's first short film "Mohammad and Urvashi" has bagged the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award.

 

Agnihotri announced the news on social media and tweeted: "Happy to announce my first short film 'Mohammad and Urvashi' has bagged Dadasaheb Phalke award. Best Actor for Myukh Ray. It's also one year of 'Buddha in a Traffic Jam'".

The filmmaker has also penned "Mohammad and Urvashi", which features actors Mayukh Ray, Manoj Raghubir Sharma and Khushboo Upadhyay.

Aditi Paul feels blessed to be part of "Baahubali 2"

Singer Aditi Paul, who sang "Veeron ke veer aa" in the blockbuster "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" feels blessed and excited at being a part of the project which has been crossing milestones since its release.

"When I was first called down in Hyderabad to record for 'Veeron ke veer aa', I wasn't too sure for which film it was. I still remember while I was recording, I saw SS Rajmouli (director) sir enter the studio and there was some sense of excitement and joy in me," Paul said in a statement.

"When I was told it is for 'Baahubali 2', I was just speechless and just being a part of this huge film makes me feel proud of my journey as a singer. I cannot thank MM Keeravani sir (music composer) who made that one call to me for this song and for giving me this opportunity," she added.

According to trade experts, "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" on Friday became the highest grossing film in Bollywood and is eyeing the Rs 400 crore club now domestically.

The worldwide box office collection of "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" has already surpassed the Rs 1000 crore mark. This is the first time that an Indian film has managed to rake in that much money.

The Hindi version of the film has been presented by filmmaker Karan Johar.

"Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" starred Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Sathyaraj and Nassar.
