Los Angeles, Apr 6 (PTI) Writer-producer Shonda Rhimes says be it television or films, the manner in which women are portrayed onscreen "must be challenged".
The creator of "Grey's Anatomy", who has teamed up with Dove's newly launched Real Beauty Productions, believes in telling the stories of who people really are in all their truth, reported Harper's Bazaar.
"I have always told stories to show us who we really are our real human truths. The way women are depicted on our screens big and small must be challenged," Rhimes said in a statement.
The writer, 46, is taking on a creative director role, will lead an entirely female studio crew to produce women's personal stories.
"I am personally eager to see the real and unexpected stories women will share with us," she said.
