Los Angeles, Apr 1 (PTI) Molly Ringwald's career has come full circle after landing Andrew McCarthy's teenage son as her movie kid, three decades after working with his actor father.
The two veteran stars were part of the Brat Pack generation of actors, who rose to fame together in the 1980s, and they played young lovers in the films "Pretty in Pink" and "Fresh Horses."
Now Andrew's son, Sam, is following in his father's career footsteps and he will make his movie debut in "All These Small Moments", which will star Molly as the 15-year-old's onscreen mother, reported People.
"My son is doing his first movie now, and his screen mum is of course Molly Ringwald!" Andrew says.
"(He) just auditioned for this movie and he was hired and it turned out that his mother was going to be Molly Ringwald!"
Andrew reveals his old friend emailed him after filming began and gushed about how similar the father-and-son are.
"She emailed me on the first day and she said, 'Your son just did a scene and when he walked away, it was just like watching you walk away from me 30 years ago.
