Mumbai, March 18 (IANS) Actress Shibani Dandekar is astonished that "there is still a dialogue surrounding gender stereotyping", and says that both genders should "coexist in this world regardless of the labels".
"The fact that there is still a dialogue surrounding gender stereotyping is astonishing to me! We need to get to a place as human beings where we see each other as just people and are able to co exist in this world regardless of the labels," Shibani said in a statement.
Shibani features in Culture Machine's new video titled "Kaam se matlab rakh" on their digital channel Blush. The video brings forth the stereotypes of language that one indulges in while going about day to day life.
Shibani says labels are good if used for empowerment.
She said: "Labels are great they say a lot about who we are and where we come from but not what we are capable of ...Use them only to empower, not to divide."
